Past Israeli ambassadors to the U.S. - Hons. Zalman Shoval, David Ivry and Itamar Rabinovitz; Ambassador Gao Yanping of China and Ambassador Radovan Javorčík of Slovakia, were among hundreds of Chamber Members, public figures and businessmen participating in a reception and concert, in honor of the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Hon. Daniel Shapiro, on Sept. 12 at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art in Tel Aviv.
Amb. Shapiro, Honorary Chairman of the Chamber, emphasized the importance of the business relations between Israel and United States, stating that "My top goal is to make sure that the Israeli public understands how deep the Israeli-U.S. relationship really is. I am looking forward to my role in greatly expanding the economic-commercial aspect of this relationship."
Amb. Shoval, former President of the Chamber, cautioned that ill-winds are blowing over the Middle East. "The Israeli economy is the strongest ever, but we cannot ignore pitfalls… A strong U.S. is in Israel's vital interest – and vice versa."
Amb. Shoval and Tamar Guy, Executive Director of the Chamber, both thanked Amb. Shapiro and President Obama for their role in rescuing Israeli personnel from the Embassy in Cairo over the previous weekend.
