Breakfast with Hezi Kugler, the General Manager of the Ministry of National Infrastructures

About 60 Chamber Members and leading figures from the Israeli energy Industry met with Hezi Kugler, Director General of the National Infrastructures Ministry, on Sept. 3, 2008. The meeting marked the first event of the Chamber's Energy Committee, headed by Chamber Member Zvi Rome, President and CEO of Petco International.

The event, at Hapina Hayeruka Restaurant overlooking the Yarkon River in Tel Aviv, dealt with the present and future of the energy market. Among the participants: Amir Makov, Managing Director of the Israeli Center for Energy and Environment; Yacov Danay. Managing Director of The National Coal Supply Corporation; David Ivry, President of the Boeing Company, and more.

Mr. Kugler emphasized that government decisions are not enough. The main problem is the lack of implementation and the inability to establish initiatives. He called on the business sector and on joint venture funds to "get of the fence", because the business sector is the true engine to advance renewable energy issues.

The event was sponsored by Petco International and Mouchel Energy Group.
