Oct. 18-19 – U.S. and Israel

Building Business through Innovation

On Oct. 18-19, the Chamber, together with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – of which the Chamber is a Member – is celebrating the 25th year since the signing of the free trade agreement between Israel and the U.S. The conference, in Washington, D.C., is focusing on technological breakthroughs, innovation across industries and global partnership opportunities. Chemi Peres, Chairman of the Chamber, is leading a delegation of Israeli businesspeople. Noted speakers include MK Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor; MK Danny Ayalon, Deputy Foreign Minister; Senator Mark Warner (D-VA); Senator John Barrasso, (R-WY); John Woolard, CEO of BrightSource Energy; Dan Senor, author of the bestseller "Start-Up Nation," and many more.

Oct. 20 – U.S.-Israel FTA: 25th Silver Anniversary - Going For the Gold

On Oct. 20, the Chamber will hold in New York its 3rd Annual Conference, in cooperation with the America-Israel Friendship League, The conference will be dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement. The conference will include a number of distinguished speakers, including Governor of New York, David Paterson; Jeff Applegate, Chief Investment Officer at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney; Larry Silverstein - President and CEO of Silverstein Properties; Charles Kushner, Chairman of Kushner Companies, Shari Arison and Yair Seroussi, Owner and Chairman of Bank Hapoalim, respectively; Ofra Strauss, Chairwoman of Strauss Group; Ester Levanon, CEO of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, and many more.
Panel discussions include the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange; The New Tools for Finance; Innovative Investments and Real Estate.
The Israel-America Award will be presented to Harvey Krueger, Vice Chairman of Barclays Capital, and Ronald Lauder, President of the World Jewish Congress.

Seminar, Nov. 1: U.S.-Israel Dual-Use Technology Trade and Investment

 The Chamber, in cooperation with the Manufacturers Association of Israel, will hold a seminar on Israel Dual-Use Technology Trade and Investment, with an expert in his field, Advocate Mario Mancuso of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld Law Offices. The event will take place on on Monday, Nov. 1, 2010, 8:30p.m. – 11:30p.m., at the Manufacturers Association, Moshevitz Hall, 29 Ha'Mered St. in Tel Aviv. Seminar, Nov. 3: Financial Reforms in the U.S.

The Chamber, in cooperation with the High-Tech Industry Association, Tel Aviv Stock Exchange and Mintz Levin Law Firm, will hold a seminar on Financial Reforms in the U.S., on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2010, 5:15p.m.-8:30p.m., at the stock exchange, 54 Ahad Ha'am St., Tel Aviv. Keynote speakers: Advocates Adam Sisitsky and Laurence (Larry) A. Schoen of Mintz Levin.
The seminar is geared toward CEOs, CFOs and legal advisors to private and public Israeli companies operating in the U.S. and those intending to commence operations in the U.S.

Discussion: Mid-Term Impact

The American Center in Jerusalem invites Members of the Chamber to a video conference on the mid-term elections in the U.S., with Prof. Robert K.C. Johnson of the History Department at Brooklyn College.  The event will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, 4:45p.m.-6:p.m., at the American Center, 19 Keren Ha'Yessod St., Jerusalem.

Any Suggestions?

The Zeev Grodecki Scholarship Fund, founded by the Chamber, awards an annual research grant, of up to NIS 40,000, to a top-class researcher, or a group of researchers, for a study that would contribute to the knowledge base of business and economic relations between the U.S. and Israel.
We ask for your suggestions on proposals concerning Israel-U.S. trade and business issues. Following the completion of the study, the researchers will be asked to present their findings to the Chamber various forums.

Fast-Track Visa to the U.S.

The Chamber assists its Members with a fast-track service for interviews for visas to the U.S. The service is designated only for business trips. The service includes a fee. For information, contact the Chamber. Make sure your employers hold valid visas and renew them well before the expiration deadline.
