The Chamber’s Healthcare Committee recently held a round-table discussion with the U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee together with senior officials from the U.S. Embassy.

The meeting brought together senior representatives from leading American, European, and Israeli healthcare companies, including Pfizer, BMS, MSD, AbbVie, Medtronic, Roche and Novartis.

During the discussion, company representatives presented their companies’ products and services and provided an overview of Israel’s public healthcare system, highlighting its strengths, unique characteristics compared with the U.S. system, as well as current challenges and emerging opportunities.

Idit Cherno, the Committee Lead, emphasized the committee’s mission to promote collaborative initiatives that improve patient outcomes, including reducing mortality, increasing survival rates, and enhancing patients’ quality of life.

She also outlined the committee’s wide-ranging activities in advancing public-health, including strengthening cooperation with key stakeholders such as medical associations, national councils, patient organizations, and maintaining ongoing dialogue with decision-makers across the Ministries of Health, Finance, Economy, and other relevant bodies.

The discussion placed special emphasis on Israel’s rapidly evolving healthcare innovation ecosystem, particularly in AI-driven solutions.

Shimrit Schwartz, CEO of Ichilov Tech, and Avner Halperin, CEO of Sheba Impact, shared insights into the significant advancements emerging from Israel’s healthcare innovation landscape.

Ambassador Huckabee expressed his appreciation for the committee’s extensive work and noted his admiration for Israel’s resilience and creativity, especially over the challenging past two years.

AMCHAM Israel’s Healthcare Committee will continue to strengthen cooperation between Israeli and American companies, as well as with the U.S. Embassy, industry leaders, and government partners, to advance innovation, improve health policy, and deepen the impact of U.S.–Israel collaboration for the benefit of the people in Israel.
