Members of the Oncology Working Group and the Innovation Working Group met with Roei Kol and Yarden Pertz from the Government Medical Centers Division at the Ministry of Health.

The discussion focused on digital literacy and therapeutic continuity throughout the patient journey. During the meeting, Roei and Yarden presented the digital platform they developed, which is designed to support patients and their families throughout the hospitalization process, from admission to discharge and return home.

The platform provides access to relevant information at all stages of hospitalization and beyond. Among the challenges raised in the discussion was the recognition that adoption and effective use of the platform depend on multiple factors, including population characteristics, the specific treatment unit, and patient profiles. It was also noted that the system’s development was preceded by extensive research.

We thank Prof. Ido Wolf, Chairperson of the Israeli Cancer Association, and Prof. Diane Levin-Zamir, Chairperson of the National Council for Health Promotion of the Israel Ministry of Health, for their participation and valuable contributions to the professional discourse. Their insights enriched and deepened the discussion at the intersection of technological innovation, public policy, and the human aspects of medicine.

One of the key takeaways from the meeting was that meaningful innovation in the healthcare system lies not only in technological advancement, but also in the ability to implement solutions that effectively mediate information, enhance understanding, and accompany patients throughout their care journey.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue the collaboration, with the goal of creating significant value for patients and their families, while At the same time support and facilitate the healthcare system.
